In HIV therapy today, patients take more than one antiretroviral medication at a time and possibly other drugs to treat co-existing conditions. While some drug combinations do not interact significantly in vivo, other drug combinations can affect the patient's safety and the effectiveness of treatment. For this reason some drug combinations should not be given at all, while other drugs may be used together with caution, possibly requiring adjustments to dosage or time of administration.

Alterations in drug concentrations of a co-medication can commonly occur with administration of antiretroviral drugs. The charts on this site are a guide to interactions that may occur between different anti-HIV drugs and other medications that the HIV+ patient may be prescribed.

Charts for NRTIs and Entry/Integrase Inhibitors

These charts are less extensive than the PI and NNRTI charts and have been compiled from the Summary of Product Characteristics, Prescribing Information, meeting abstracts and full papers. With a few exceptions, only drugs cited in these sources are listed. If a drug is not present, there are no data available.
