and IC95 data, because the numeric values generated depend
on a number of factors relating to their in-vitro calculation, as
listed above.
Particularly important for extrapolation of in-vitro data to an
in-vivo context is the amount of protein in the culture medium:
- in-vitro
studies are commonly conducted with 50% human serum.
It is vital to
have comparative data testing all drugs in the same system, under
the same conditions, in order to be able to make a realistic comparison
of IC50 or IC95 values. |
