Speaker notes: A number of PIs fall to concentrations which are undesirably close to levels where the virus is not fully inhibited: because of inter-individual variability, some individuals may have drug levels below this mark e.g. indinavir (IDV) administered at 800mg TID. Adding ritonavir (RTV) at 400mg BID with food to IDV 400mg BID shows: prolonged IDV half life (t½) reduced IDV Cmax overall, the IDV Cmin is increased way above the IC95.
