Treatment Failure

Slide 20 of 22

Speaker notes: Pharmacologic factors are very important and may be involved in treatment failure.

The is a huge inter-individual variability in pharmacokinetics:
  • PI trough levels can be very different between one person and the next.
Cellular resistance and (potentially) pharmacologic mechanisms of resistance are very important in treatment failure, and are beginning to receive more attention.
