This interaction has not been studied. Co-administration of etravirine and cobicistat is expected to decrease cobicistat plasma concentrations. Atazanavir or darunavir plasma concentrations may decrease as a consequence of a reduction in cobicistat plasma concentrations, which may result in loss of therapeutic effect and development of resistance. Co-administration is not recommended.

 

Darunavir or atazanavir in combination with etravirine is not recommended in combination with cobicistat because dosing recommendations for such combinations have not been established and coadministration may result in decreased plasma concentrations of the antiretroviral agents, leading to loss of therapeutic effect and development of resistance.
