No Interaction Expected
Emtricitabine/Tenofovir-DF (FTC/TDF, PrEP)
Quality of Evidence:
Coadministration has not been studied but based on metabolism and clearance a clinically significant interaction is unlikely. Aspirin is rapidly deacetylated to form salicylic acid which is further glucuronidated by several UGTs (major UGT1A6). Aspirin used as an antiplatelet agent at 100 mg once daily in chronic use is unlikely to increase the risk of tenofovir-DF nephrotoxicity.
